This online training course will teach learners the basics of food safety and core principles of HACCP including food safety legislation and recognising their responsibilities as food handlers. This course is designed for anyone beginning their career as a food worker or working in a food environment including preparation, distribution and food service staff. Under Irish law, all food workers must be competent in food safety and hygiene and understand the legislation of the same and this course will give you the skills and knowledge to apply the principles of food safety and to work with confidence. By the end of this course, learners will understand the importance of personal and food hygiene, recognise the types of health issues poor food hygiene can cause, be able to identify the various types of food safety hazards and how to avoid putting food at risk.
